Q: What happens in our first session?

Once we connect, you'll have the opportunity to tell me what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions to learn more about you, what you would like help with, and which areas of your life are currently challenging. We'll discuss the therapy process and my clinical approach. I will then provide an assessment and recommendations on how best to approach your situation.

Together, we will develop a plan to guide our work. We will also talk about the types of interventions that we may use. This initial process normally takes about 1 to 3 sessions.

Q: How long will I be in therapy?

This varies from person to person, but it’s ultimately up to you. If you would like to achieve certain time-limited goals, then you and I will collaborate on a specific set of objectives and tailor our work to find solutions to your present concerns. If you seek deeper levels of change and recovery from issues such as a difficult early childhood, the challenge of connecting with others in healthy ways, or how to develop a healthier self-concept, then our work together may last longer.

Q: Do you provide virtual therapy?

Currently only conducting virtual therapy due to Covid-19.

Q: Is our work confidential?

Yes! I take confidentiality very seriously. Per California and Tennessee state law, confidentiality will be protected unless there is indication that a child, elder or disabled person is being abused.

Q: Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time.

Q: What are fees and forms of payment?

Fees will discussed at the time of consultation, and payment is at the time of service and made by credit card or Paypal.

Q: What is the rescheduling and cancellation policy?

At least 24-hour notification is required to reschedule or cancel appointments. Without this notification, you will be expected to pay for the full session.

Q: Is there a free phone consultation?

You may call 323-498-4448 or email to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine if we would be a good fit to work together, and whether I can help you.
